The Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund helped fund a Research Nurse Navigator at Frederick Health, enabling breast cancer clinical trials to be offered locally so patients don’t have to travel for cutting-edge treatment opportunities.
The Fund provided critical equipment and systems. Such as a refrigerated centrifuge and secure trial enrollment software. These are necessary to participate in research studies locally.
As a result of this support, multiple breast cancer clinical trials are now available at Frederick Health’s Breast Center.
Over the years, the Fund helped bring advanced 3D mammography and MRI breast coils to the community. Technologies that improve early detection and diagnostic accuracy.
